Learn more about fostering atevent

- Staff reporter

Foster parenting in the subject of a drop-in event later this month in Alloa Town Hall.

Residents are being encouraged to learn more about becoming a foster carer for Clackmannanshire’s children, on Wednesday, May 17 from 7-9pm.

Children in the Wee County need foster carers – ordinary local people who can offer a safe and secure experience and lots of fun. Along with people new to fostering, carers working for other agencies are being encouraged to contact Clackmannanshire Council, which is looking to recruit up to 50 carers over the next five years.

At the drop-in event, there is an opportunity to learn more, to chat with existing foster carers about what it’s really like to foster and to speak to staff who can answer any questions you may have.

This event is part of a campaign which is taking place that can be spotted over the coming months in a variety of different places.

Celia Gray, head of social services, said: “I’d like to encourage anyone who thinks they could help support our young people to come along to our meeting, where they’re assured of a warm welcome from our supportive staff and our experienced foster carers.”
