Willie’s 100th party

Killearn resident Willie Proctor marked a major milestone recently.

The villager celebrated his 100th birthday on May 9 with a get together with family and friends in Killearn Church Hall.

The Aberdeensh­ire man has also lived in Bearsden and Balmaha, moving to Killearn almost three decades ago.

Among those helping him celebrate were relatives who travelled from Canada.

His son John said:“He would like to thank all the family, friends and neighbours for all their gifts, cards and good wishes on his 100th birthday.”

Meanwhile, another West Stirlingsh­ire man was celebratin­g his milestone birthday.

Archie Lovie celebrated his 90th birthday with his wife Mary and son David and family at his home at 17 Cotton Street, Balfron.

David said his father would love to see himself in the Observer“as he buys the paper everyweek and has done for many, many years”.
