Case is delayed by dog attack
Victim missed appontment
A woman missed an appointment with court social workers after being attacked by a Rottweiler.
Sheriff William Gilchrist described Megan Roberts as “accident-prone” after hearing that the 22-yearold had also failed to turn up for a previous appointment because she had a broken wrist.
Roberts, of Montgomery Place, Buchlyvie, had admitted stealing magazines from Stirling Bus Station on July 27 of last year.
She was due to appear at Stirling Sheriff Court on Wednesday but the court heard that a presentencing report was not available.
Defence solicitor Ken Dalling said: “She missed the appointment and told me that she was attacked by a Rottweiler while at Leicester train station on May 14.
“She said she made two phone calls to the social worker to try and rearrange.”
He continued: “I am told the exertions with the Rottweiler were exacerbated as she had just had a full back tattoo done.”
Roberts was initially not present at the court but was summoned by Mr Dalling and the case recalled later in the morning.
“She is here at my insistance and has risen from her sick bed,” said the solicitor.
The sheriff was shown a picture of the bite and also heard that Roberts had missed an appointment on April 26 as she had a broken wrist.
He said: “You appear to be accident-prone.
“There is an appointment made for later on in the week and I expect you to attend.”
The case was continued until June 21.
