Double trouble at planning border

-

Developers hoping to build a house in Killin have had to submit two identical planning applications - because the site is partly in the national park and partly in Stirling Council planning authority’s area.

AR Hospitality is seeking to build a house on land 50 metres south-west of the Bridge of Lochay Hotel.

Stirling Council planners said: “The application submitted to us is a duplicate application of one submitted to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park due to garden ground and part of the driveway being on land with Stirling Council as planning authority.”

Greenfields Design Ltd, agents for the applicants, said: “There are no plans to develop any of this land other than the planting of trees as the purchase of the land prohibits any development.”

Both planning authorities are considering the applications.
