Opening night is fast approachin­g for the dark comedy‘Sweeney Todd’ at the Dunblane Centre next week.

Director Pamela Mackie said: “The cast has been working incredibly hard.

“It’s a difficult show to learn but it sounds fantastic and we can guarantee a great night of theatre and entertainm­ent.”

Sweeney Todd is the tale of a barber who uses his razor to takes revenge on those who wronged him. The bodies are baked into meat pies and sold to the unsuspecti­ng public.

Pamela said:“Perhaps Stephen Sondheim’s most perfect score,‘Sweeney Todd’is lush, operatic and full of soaring beauty, pitch-black comedy and stunning terror.

“It’s one of the most remarkable achievemen­ts in musical theatre of the last 50 years.

“Friday night is sold out, with only a few tickets left for Saturday night.”

There are shows at 7.30pm every night from Wednesday to Saturday next week, with a 2pm matinee on the Saturday.

Tickets, priced £13, are available from the Dunblane Centre or online at www.theatreind­unblane.co.uk.

There will be a bar and a combinatio­n of single seating and cabaret-style tables.
