MSP backs campaign

Mid Scotland and Fife MSP Alexander Stewart visited a special Boys’ Brigade exhibition at Holyrood.

The exhibition, which is running in the Scottish Parliament until Sunday, is aimed at encouragin­g more young people to take part in physical activity.

Mr Stewart, current battalion president of Stirling and District Battalion Boys’Brigade, said: “This latest initiative for more children and young people to participat­e in regular physical activity and to engage with each other as friends and equally as a team, thus developing mutual respect and encouragem­ent, is deserving of every success and absolutely key to what the Boys’ Brigade stands for.

“The Boys’Brigade is calling for a team-based approach to encouragin­g participat­ion in sports and activities which are critical for children and young people’s health, tackling childhood obesity and helping bridge the educationa­l attainment gap – and this is to be wholeheart­edly commended.”
