Amazing Annie musical melts hearts of audience
Children from Plean took to the stage last week for a show-stopping production of Annie Junior.
The story is based on Annie, the tale of the orphan with the distinctive red curls who melts the heart of millionaire tycoon Daddy Warbucks.
And the enthusiasm and talent of the East Plean Primary School youngsters provided some wonderful moments for the audience.
The school’s parent council helped to fund the sound and lighting equipment by Sight and Sound Scotland and created the backdrop for the production, while parents and carers organised the equally impressive costumes.
Teacher Mrs Tarvit and her Golden Friday Set Design Club created much of the set for the show, while Miss Thomson spent many hours painting and sketching the staging. Music teacher Mrs McLean supported the children with their singing.
Bannockburn High School also showed their support by lending props, staging and costumes.
Acting depute headteacher Erin Diamond said: “Our rehearsals and auditons began in Decemeber and children from P4-7 were invited to be involved. The children demonstrated fantastic levfels of commitment. We had two sold out performances and are so proud of the talent and confidence shown by our pupils and the support provided by staff and families.”
