- Kaiya Marjoribannks

Stirling’s new community festival Binos Live is being backed by three Central Scotland organisations.

Fair Trade Stirling, ACL Hire and Alloa event company Party People have all signed up to sponsor the event on Sunday June 25 at Stirling Albion FC, Stirling Sports Village.

Stirling Albion FC, The Scribbler’s Picnic and Prudential UK & Europe have collaborated to create the family friendly event of football and music from 11am until 6pm.

Albion chairman Stuart Brown, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have these organisations ‘on board.’ On behalf of everyone involved I extend to them all my sincere thanks.”

Jon Cape, Fair Trade Stirling, said: “We will be providing 12 Fair Trade footballs for the activities. We work with people in Pakistan who make leather footballs and our involvement in Binos Live will help raise awareness of Fair Trade and the work that we do.”

Jim and Billy Harris, Directors of ACL Hire, added: “We have been avid supporters of The Scribbler’s Picnic for the last few years and Binos Live looks like it will be a brilliant day out so we had no hesitation in offering backing.”

Binos Live will include football activities, fun and educational, promoting Stirling Albion’s work in the community plus opportunities to find out more about becoming involved in the club, a mascot race and a chance to meet some of the first team players and management.

Stirling fundraising group The Scribbler’s Picnic will be hosting two stages of live music, a food village, stalls and kid’s activities. Prudential UK & Europe, one of the area’s biggest employers, is also a sponsor.

Binos Live is entirely non-profit making and funds raised will be donated between cancer related charities (as per the ethos of previous Scribbler’s Picnic events) and the Stirling Albion Junior Academy.

Early bird tickets are now on sale from www.binoslive. co.uk priced: family £10 (2 adults 2 children)/individual ticket £5/under 5s free. Tickets on the gate on the day will cost: family £20 (2 adults 2 children) /adult ticket £10/ U16s £5/U5s free.
