Success for vaulters

Wee County Vaulters recently enjoyed a successful trip to Highfield of Howe, Giffordtow­n.

In the Female Senior 3-Star class, Rebecca Norval took first place with Lisa Mercer finishing second in her first competitio­n at this level. Both girls vaulted on Tylers Kernel lunged by Joanne Eccles.

In Junior 2-Star class, Kerri Brylka, also vaulting on Tylers Kernel, was first place with Mhairi Hume vaulting on Captain Jack, lunged by John Eccles, finishing fourth.

Kyra Lennie was third in Junior 1-Star class with Michelle Messner finishing in eighth. Both girls performed on Captain Jack, this time lunged by Lisa Mercer. Lisa also lunged Glaxtown Billy for Katie Henderson, helping her to achieve a third place finish in the Child 2-Star class.

Ferne Smith, Sally Henderson and Codi Hay were sixth, seventh and eighth respective­ly in the child 1-Star class and in the novice individual section Joanne Messner placed first with Rebecca Snaddon third, both girls vaulting on Tylers Kernel lunged by Rebecca Norval.

The Senior Squad 2-Star competitio­n was won by the Scottish Equestrian Vaulting team on Glaxtown Billy lunged by Joanne Eccles. The team was made up of six Wee County members - Kerri Brylka, Rebecca Norval, Mhairi Hume, Katie Henderson, Kyra Lennie and Sally Henderson. In the pre-novice section the Wee County team of Rebecca Hogg, Michaela Hogg, Rhona Swan, Jennifer Cameron, Eilidh Bennett and Peyton Edgar were third vaulted on Tylers Kernel lunged by Clare Henderson

Rebecca, Michaela, Eilidh and Peyton were then joined by Kirsten Scott and Karly Leeson for the Walk Squad B Competitio­n finishing in second place.

The Walk Pas de Deux section A class, Ferne Smith and Eilidh Bennett finished in first place just ahead of Michelle and Joanne Messner. The Walk/Canter class resulted in a fourth place for Rebecca Hogg and a seventh place for Jennifer Cameron in their respective classes while in the Walk/Walk section, Kirsten Scott was second with Peyton Edgar sixth and Karly Leeson ninth in their respective classes.

The next competitio­n for the club is at Highfield of Howe on Saturday, June 17.
