Tiny dancers wow crowd with show

Talented youngsters showcase their fancy footwork

- Robert Fairnie

More than 100 talented young dancers showed off some of their finest moves at the Macrobert earlier this month.

The annual Just Dance performance brings together children aged 5 to 12 who attend weekly Active Stirling community dance classes.

And the youngsters were given the chance to showcase all their hard work, and some of the most impressive shapes they have been practicing over the months, in front of a packed audience.

Those who attended enjoyed an evening of colourful costumes, upbeat pop music and some sublime dancing.

It was definitely a night to remember for the audience and performers alike. Zoe Thomson, dance development officer, said the night went down a treat with all involved and she was delighted with all of the young performers.

She said: “The children have worked so hard all year and it shows in their performance.

“The show was outstanding and the children who took part loved every minute on stage.

“A massive congratulations and well done to all the boys and girls.”

Community dance classes run weekly, during term time, at St Modan’s High, Stirling High, Bannockburn High, Dunblane High and Balfron High.

A new secondary class for 12 to 18-year-olds will start at Bannockburn High in August.
