New soft play area is opened

A new indoor soft play area has opened in Callander just in time for the start of the school summer holidays.

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new indoor soft play area at McLaren Leisure – The Woodland Kingdom Soft Play - was carried out by former chair of the Board of Volunteer Directors and representa­tives of Callander Community Hydro Fund, Alex Mitchell.

The new play area consists of new double height soft play frames and a space for children to play thanks to funding from Callander Community Hydro.

At the ribbon cutting, current Chair of the Board of Volunteer Directors David Moore thanked all supporters of the centre’s latest initiative including McLean and Stewart who have donated toy cars.

Mr Moore said:“We are always looking for ways we can improves our facilities for users of all ages.

“Our new indoor play centre provides a great way for families with young children aged 0-8 to keep them active and have fun regardless of the weather.”

MSP Bruce Crawford joined Stirling Councillor­s Evelyn Tweed, Jeremy McDonald and Martin Earl.

Trossachs and Teith Councillor Martin Earl said:“. The soft play area is a big asset to the community, making excellent use of the space available in the building. It’s already popular with residents and visitors alike and increases use of the café and pool.”

The new indoor play area is open 7 days a week.
