Moon Cottage opens its garden for charity
The delightfully named Moon Cottage in Dunblane is the latest addition to the Scotland’s Gardens programme venues.
Its garden opens on Sunday July 9 from 2-5pm to raise money for charity - with MND (Motor Neurone Disease) Scotland receiving 40 per cent of proceeds and SG Beneficiaries the remainder.
SG spokesperson Gillie Drapper said:“Moon Cottage has a fairly young garden. It has grown up over the past 10-15 years on the edge of farm land adjacent to a wood plantation. There are herbaceous beds, a wonderful variety of shrubs and trees, a vegetable patch, fruit trees and a pond. There is also a folly.”
The grass may be soft if it has been wet. Some paths are a bit rough. There will be teas and a plant stall and dogs are welcome if on leads. There is partial disabled access. Admission is £4 with accompanied children free.
Moon Cottage is one and a half miles on the B824 from the Keir roundabout to Doune with the stone walled entrance to Greenyards farm track on the right. Visitors are advised not to go down to white cottages, Biggins, as per GPS, but should take the next track on the right after half a mile. Coming from Doune take the B824 to Bridge of Allan the track entrance is on the left, about half mile past the David Stirling Memorial statue. Follow the yellow garden open signs.
