A few more prime cattle forward with all classes once again dearer and many more could have been sold to the large ringside of buyers. Bullocks sold to 250p pkg (twice) from Brockwoodl­ees, Cannonbie purchased by T. Johnston, Butchers, Cow Wynd Falkirk and to £1763.84 from C. Smith South Flanders, Kippen. Dairy-bred bullocks averaged 156p pkg selling to 171p pkg from Lawhill Cottages, Torrance and to £670 from Wester Whitefield, Dunfermlin­e. Tuesday, July 11: Caledonian Marts sold 508 spring lambs which sold to £115 for a 51kg Texel from JB Guthrie, Cuiltburn and to 256p pkg for a 43kg Texel from RA Campbell and Sons, Meikle Seggie. Overall average was 214.6p pkg (+11p on the week). Leading prices: Lambs (£ per head): Texel - £112 Cuiltburn; £110 Rob- ertsonlane, Cuiltburn and Meikle Seggie. Suffolk - £111 Kinnaird; £109 Kinnaird. Cross - £96 Kinnaird. Spring lambs per kg: Texel – 250p Cuiltburn and Meikle Seggie; 247p Cuiltburn.
