Wallace Monument opens doors

-

Stirling’s iconic National Wallace Monument is opening its doors for a special after-hours event next month.

Knock on History’s Door sees the historic tower open for an exclusive tour on August 11 and 12.

With only 25 tickets available for each night, this unique experience offers guests access to explore the exhibitions and see the breathtaking views in a new light.

Visitors are invited to climb the 246 stairs to discover the life and legacy of William Wallace inside the monument built in his honour and to meet historical characters along the way with live performances.

Stirling archaeologist Murray Cook will also be participating on both evenings, providing expert insight into the city’s rich history and the monument’s surrounding area of the Abbey Craig.

Ken Thomson, marketing manager at Stirling District Tourism, the charity which operates the monument, said: “This special evening tour will allow visitors to see the building from a new perspective, and at a different time of day.”

Tickets priced £9.99 are available online now www. nationalwallacemonument.com. Advance booking is required.
