Stirling is expensive for students
Stirling has been ranked as one of the least affordable cities in the UK for university students.
In a survey of the country’s university cities Stirling ranked 30th out of 35.
A new report by the Royal Bank of Scotland has shown that students in the city work the most part-time hours despite its lowly ranking.
The Student Living Index 2017 revealed what students are spending their money on.
Students in Stirling have been revealed to be the most fashion- conscious, spending on average £38.60 on clothes, shoes and accessories each month – compared with only £19.10 on average a month in Durham and £10 more than the UK average.
When it comes to employment, students in Stirling work the most part-time hours – on average 28.6 hours a month.
Students in the city earn around £1,030.30 per month during term time.
And when it came to monthly alcohol spend, it was revealed that the city’s students spend a monthly average of 33.2 hours socialising.
