Reader solves big mystery on rubbish attitude of some drivers

-

There are many mysteries in life. Why do you put two socks in the washing machine only to bring one out? Why does your toast always seem to drop on the floor buttered side down?

But the one which currently has me in a quandry is why do people throw the everything from paper cups to takeaway boxes out of their car windows instead of taking them home and putting them in a bin? What is it that drives them to keep their cars clean but their wider environment a billowing mass of rubbish?

Oh, I know. It has just come to me - selfishness. While everyone else has to endure the mess they have left they at least have a nice shiny four-wheeled haven to escape in. Next chance I get I’m going to throw it back in the window it came from - what’s good for one is good for all.
