Accused faces court
Police hunting a man who went on a shooting spree with a paintball gun have made an arrest.
Officers issued an appeal for information after a man suffered a facial injury after being shot while walking on the West Highland Way, near Drymen, on Friday June 23.
The Observer reported that the incident was one of a number of a similar nature reported to police on the day – with others taking place in the Glasgow and West Dunbartonshire areas.
The person responsible was said to be driving a black Audi A4 at the time.
Police confirmed last week that they had made touch to assist with this investigation.
“Some of the information provided proved to be absolutely vital in helping us establish the circumstances of this reckless and dangerous incident.”
Anthony Rasmussen appeared from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday in connection with a number of offences. The 23-year-old, who is from the Clydebank area, is facing 17 charges in total.
Five are of assault to injury, six charges of assault, four charges of culpable and reckless conduct, a charge of theft and a charge of reset.
He made no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination. He was granted bail.
