Officers issued an appeal for information after a man suffered a facial injury after being shot while walking on the West Highland Way, near Drymen, on Friday June 23.

The Observer reported that the incident was one of a number of a similar nature reported to police on the day – with others taking place in the Glasgow and West Dunbartonshire areas.

The person responsible was said to be driving a black Audi A4 at the time.

Police confirmed last week that they had made touch to assist with this investigation.

“Some of the information provided proved to be absolutely vital in helping us establish the circumstances of this reckless and dangerous incident.”

Five are of assault to injury, six charges of assault, four charges of culpable and reckless conduct, a charge of theft and a charge of reset.

He made no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination. He was granted bail.
