Duo briefs selling fast

- Chris Marzella

Callander is set to end its summer extravaganza with a musical performance from an iconic Scottish duo.

Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham visit Callander on Thursday, August 17 as part of their latest tour.

The pair were initially set to perform at the Kirk Hall at 8pm, but the gig has been moved next door to the Callander Kirk in South Church Street with a slightly earlier start of 7.30pm.

Aly and Phil are now embarking on their 31st year of working together.

Anne Docherty of Callander Community Development Trust, one of Summerfest’s organisers, said:“We’re thrilled to have them coming to Callander and see this event as the grand finale to our very successful Summerfest.

“Tickets have been selling so well we took the decision to move into Callander Kirk which will allow even more people to enjoy their music in very special surroundings with wonderful acoustics.

“We’re grateful to our funders – Callander Community Hydro Find, Friends of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs and Stirling Council – and to the many local sponsors, groups, artists, performers and volunteers who make Summerfest a truly community-based celebration.”

Tickets £16 for adults, £14 for over 60s and £6 for under 16s and are on sale at Brambles Delicatessen, 22 Main Street, Callander.
