Rescuers calledout

-

Rescue workers were called out to a glen featured in hit TV series Outlander for the second week in a row.

Volunteers from Lomond Mountain Rescue Team (Lomond MRT) were called to the Finnich Glen near Killearn, known locally as the Devil’s Pulpit, on Wednesday.

This time the team were stood down when two sets of clothing were found.

David Dodson from Lomond MRT said: “We received a call at around 9.40pm and the last of the crew returned at around 12.15am.

“It wasn’t a night to be out in conditions like that and when we receive these calls we have to go and investigate. The main thing is that nobody seems to have been out there and it doesn’t look like anybody was hurt. We found two sets of clothing in a pile.”

It comes just a week after Lomond MRT were called out to the same location after two swimmers – dressed only in bathing suits – became stuck in the Devil’s Pulpit and had to be hoisted to safety.

The beauty spot has become a popular tourist attraction, especially with fans of the hit TV series who flock to the area.

In June, emergency services carried out a rescue mission after a man became trapped after slipping 50 feet into the Devil’s Pulpit.

In July 2016, a worried family – including four young children – had to be rescued.
