Miners Welfare Social Club Bingo on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8pm. Community council Meets in the community centre on the first Thursday of each month at 7pm. Stirling Christadel­phian Church hour at the church at 40 Main Street is held every Sunday from 2.30pm, with Sunday school at the same time. Ladywell Church Service on Sunday at 11.15am will be a Songs of Praise led by Linda and Helen. Sunday school is held during the service. Team Three will be on duty. Flower Show On Saturday, September 2, a flower show will be held in Allan Church Hall from 1.30-4.30pm. This event is open meaning everyone can enter - not just Bannockbur­n locals. There will be flower and vegetable competitio­ns as well as baking, knitting and flower arranging contests. There will also be a competitio­n for the children. Anyone wishing to place an entry should ensure they have a copy of the schedule. Exhibitors should bring their entries to the church between 6.30-8pm on Friday, September 1 and from 9-10.30am on the day of the show as judging will begin at noon. There will be a charge of 10p for each entry. Teas will be served on the day from 1.30pm. Donations of home baking and donations for a raffle would be much appreciate­d. Parish Church Sunday worship takes place at 11am and will include the celebratio­n of the Sacrament of Baptism. Service will be conducted by Rev Dan Harper. Sunday school meets at the usual time and there will be a creche. Coffee fellowship will be served in the Chalmers Hall afterwards. St Saviour’s Episcopal Church Eucharist services are on Sundays at 8am and 10am Sung Eucharist with Choir. Young church and creche takes place in the church hall and then they join in with the main service later. Coffee/tea is served in the church hall after the 10am Eucharist. Wednesday Eucharist at 11am in the Choir Vestry; a quiet, peaceful service with coffee/tea afterwards. Save Gillies Hill The annual ladies fundraing lunch will be held on Saturday, September 23rd in the King Robert Hotel. Two-course lunch with guest speaker and raffle. Speaker is crime writer and local lad Craig Robertson whose father and grandparen­ts lived in Cambusbarr­on; Mrs Robertson latterly in Underwood Cottages and Mr Robertson was affectiona­tely known as “The egg man”. Craig will talk about his writing career and his associatio­n with Cambusbarr­on and the Gillies Hill. Bruce Memorial Church The service at 11am on Sunday will be led by minister Rev Graham Nash, continuing the Compassion series with the title “I was thirsty”. The quarterly formal communion celebratio­n also takes place. There will be a prayer gathering on Sunday at 7-8pm in the church. The choir will return for practice tomorrow (Thursday) at 7.30pm in the church hall. All welcome. The Praise Band is also looking for musicians and singers.
