Music and coffee

-

Music in Dollar is holding its annual fundraising Musical Coffee Morning in the village next month.

The event on Saturday, September 9 is held to raise funds to allow the group to host a new series of five Scottish, jazz and classical concerts in Dollar Academy over the next few months.

Star of this year’s season will be a performance by the world’s top violinists Tasmin Little on October 14.

This year’s coffee morning includes live music from local jazz pianist Fergus McCreadie, homemade cake stall, a prize quiz and a raffle with all the proceeds going to help fund the concerts.

Concert tickets will be on sale, with a special early-bird season ticket for all five concerts for just £35, a saving of £15 compared to the on-the-door price. Plus everyone buying a season ticket at the coffee morning will receive two free tickets for the first concert in the season for friends or family to come along.

Julian Reeves, from Dollar Music Society, said: “Our annual coffee morning is the most important part of our fundraising. It’s always very popular so we’re hoping for a good turnout again this year.

“We’re very lucky to have Fergus playing for us. Being a local lad he always enjoys playing in Dollar and is sure to give a great performance.

The coffee morning will be held in the Burnside Hall, East Burnside, Dollar from 10am until noon.

Tickets are available on the day, for just £2.50 for adults and £1 for children – including refreshments and live music.
