Young mum died hours after her 23rd birthday
Leanne Morrison’s body was discovered in the public park in Cambusbarrron
A young Cambusbarron mum was found dead just hours after celebrating her 23rd birthday with friends.
The body of Leanne Morrison was discovered in the village’s park around 4.25am on Tuesday, August 29, by a member of the public.
Police Scotland said: “Enquiries are ongoing however the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Friends on social media told how Leanne, who had a fouryear-old son, Mason, suffered from depression and was saddened after a relationship broke down.
In April, Leanne gave a clue as to the torment she was going through when she made an emotional post on Facebook.
She said: “Well just want to clear a few things up, not a single person will get to me with their pathetic, disgusting lies. So say and think what you want about me cause every last one of you are irrelevant.
“And as for the so-called pal, don’t even know where to start with it.”
Police have this week said they have not received any complaints of cyber bullying in relation to Leanne and that there is currently no investigation ongoing into this aspect of the case.
Senior officers say, however, they will investigate any evidence of bullying which comes to light.
The young mum’s cousin, Jacqueline Morrison, started a crowdfunding appeal to boost Leanne’s funeral fund, and it currently stands at more than £1500.
She posted: “Everyone who knew Leanne knew what a beautiful person she was inside and out and how much she loved her family and friends, especially her gorgeous son Mason.
“Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Leanne will have amazing memories they can cherish forever. Please donate if you can and share with as many people as you can so we can give this gorgeous princess the send off she deserves.”
