Chance to find out about five year plan

Community invited to get involved at vital meeting

- Chris Marzella

People in Callander will get the chance to find out more about a proposed five-year plan for the town this week.

The Callander Community Action Plan is being launched tomorrow (Thursday) at a drop-in session at Callander Youth Hostel, Bridgend, between 7pm and 9pm.

The blueprint will highlight key projects and community groups will be available with displays and information to show how they contribute to the plan and how residents can get involved.

Callander Community Action Plan 2017-22 is the result of surveys, community meetings and focus group session with all sections of the town’s population including pupils at Callander Primary and McLaren High schools, businesses and key public sector partners.

Frank Park, chairman of Callander Community Development Trust, said: “The plan is vital for progressing the projects that help to meet our longterm aims, most crucially by supporting funding applications. If a project helps to meet a priority in the plan, funders are much more likely to support it.

“Many of our local groups have some ambitious projects and plans for the next few years. Take this chance to find out more and speak to some of the people already involved.”

Copies of the plan will be available on the night and at Callander Library or on request from Callander Town Coordinator by emailing coordinator@callandercdt. org.uk or call 07852 106605.

It will also be online at www.callandercdt.org.uk.

The action plan process was guided by a steering group with members representing Callander Community Council,
