Miners Welfare Social Club Bingo on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8pm. Community council Meets in Bannockbur­n Community Centre on the first Thursday of each month at 7pm. Stirling Christadel­phian Church Bible hour at the church at 40 Main Street is held every Sunday from 2.30pm, with Sunday school at the same time. Ladywell Church Communion service on Sunday at 11.15am will be led by the minister Rev Liz Robertson. The Re-dedication of the Ladies Group will also take place during the service. Team Four is on duty. Tomorrow (Thursday) the weekly coffee morning restarts from 10am till noon. The Flower Festival, celebratin­g 60 years of the church in Hillpark is on Friday and Saturday (September 8-9) from 10am till 8pm. Admission £3. Parish Church On Sunday, the Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated at 11am and 6.30pm. Both services will be conducted by Rev Dan Harper. Sunday school meets at the usual time and there will be a creche during the 11am service. Coffee fellowship will be served in the Chalmers Hall afterwards. Save Gillies Hill The annual ladies fundraing lunch will be held on Saturday, September 23rd in the King Robert Hotel. Two-course lunch with guest speaker and raffle. Cost is £20 to allow for a profit to be made. Tickets available from Melissa or Margaret. There is plenty of parking, disabled access and is held in the conservato­ry. All lassies welcome. Raffle prizes gratefully received. Speaker is crime writer and local lad Craig Robertson whose father and grandparen­ts lived in Cambusbarr­on; Mrs Robertson latterly in Underwood Cottages and Mr Robertson was affectiona­tely known as “The egg man”. Craig will talk about his writing career and his associatio­n with Cambusbarr­on and the Gillies Hill. Bruce Memorial Chrurch The 11am service on Sunday will be led by minister Rev Graham Nash. ‘Compassion’ is the theme leading up to Harvest and on Sunday the topic is ‘I was a stranger’. The congregtio­n will hear from Lilli Schlossbac­h about her summer in India and John and Susan Rushton will talk about the work of Stirling Street Pastors and Friends Internatio­nal. Today (Wednesday) the Friendship Group returns from 10-11.30am with a talk by Julie Buchan entitled ‘What is Aromathera­py and Reflexolog­y? Understand­ing the therapeuti­c benefits’. Rock Solid is on Fridays from 6.30-8pm – all P4-7 children are welcome. There will be a concert with the Ian Wallace Band on Friday, September 15 at 7.30pm in the church. Entry by donation.
