Dunblane Civic Society The first meeting after the summer break is on Monday, September 11 at 7.30pm in the Braeport Centre. A speaker from Network Rail will talk on “The Railway Electrific­ation Project”. The new programme of events consists of eight talks (including the Dunblane Lecture), spring walk/lunch, summer outing, Christmas lunch and an AGM usually with entertainm­ent so there is plenty going on. Visitors’ admission is £2. Dunblane Cathedral Midweek service will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at 11am, all welcome. Sunday worship begins at 10.30am. Sunday school will meet as usual. Articles can also be handed in to the office up until noon on Friday, September 8. The first of three meetings on the important issue of dementia will be held in the halls on Tuesday, September 12. The series will be led by Bonnie MacDowell of Stirling Presbytery in support of “Dunblane city: a dementia friendly community”. The first session is entitled “Living with dementia: An introducti­on to reality for everyone”. The other dates are September 26 and October 3.
