Parkinson’s help sessions

-

Spaces are still available on a Parkinson’s UK selfmanagement programme starting in Stirling next month.

The course, delivered over three consecutive Wednesdays from October 4 is available free to people with, or affected by, Parkinson’s.

The programme is designed and delivered by trained volunteers, usually people with Parkinson’s, their partners and carers, who are all keen to share their first-hand experiences of living with Parkinson’s.

Louise Buchanan, service manager at Parkinson’s UK said: “Our experience of running these groups over the last two years is that people really value the chance to meet others and talk through some of the bigger questions about life with Parkinson’s.

“It contains lots of practical advice and hints and tips and is suitable for everyone affected by Parkinson’s; from newly diagnosed people to those who have been living with Parkinson’s for longer. Partners and carers of people with Parkinson’s also find the programme hugely useful. Everyone will be made to feel very welcome and I’d urge anyone with an interest to book their place now.”

The programme will be held at the Riverbank Resource Centre, James Street, Stirling on October 4, 11, and 18 October from 10.30am-3.30pm.

For more information or to book a place please email selfmanagement@ parkinsons.org.uk or call 020 7963 3924. Information, including a video featuring previous course attendees is also available at parkinsons. org.uk/selfmanagement.
