Stirling hosts Aquabiking
Stirling Triathlon Club is to host the city’s first Aquabike event next month.
The swim and bike adult-only race will run alongside the club’s usual autumn aquathlon competitions on Sunday, October 8 at Stirling University.
The Stirling Aquathlon (swim and run) is an established classic on the Scottish racing calendar and is running in conjunction with the Scottish Student Triathlon Aquathlon Championships.
There are races for adults and children – all set within the university grounds. For the Aquathlon, adults will race over 750m in the Scottish Swimming Academy pool followed by a three-lap course making up a 4.5km run section.
The Junior Aquathlon races, which are part of Triathlon Scotland’s 2017 Legends Ranking Series, cover various distances depending on age group.
Meanwhile, Aquabike competitors will complete a 400m swim before heading out of the university grounds to race a single 14k bike loop.
The route goes out towards Tullibody along the Alloa Road then back through Menstrie and Blairlogie along the Hillfoots Road - the same loop used in the Stirling NoviceTriathlon.
Places are still available for all the races and the closing date for entries is Friday, September 22.
