Stirling County player James Wray was part of the successful Scotland team that won the British Isles junior internatio­nal title last weekend in Wales.

James, a member of the Polmaise Club, played in all three matches against England, Wales and Ireland with his rink and team undefeated.

The series was played in Llandrindo­d Wells and this was Scotland’s first under-25s success since 2011. Bridge of Allan Bridge of Allan bowlers retained the Greasley Quaich last Saturday with victory over Tillicoult­ry.

Scores were (BofA skips first): J McKenzie 14-16 S Ward; K Wilkie 16-11 A Thornton; J Frickleton 12-12 J McAllister; I Wright 23-9 M Greasley; R Guy 25-13 S Richards ; J Grant 17-16 C Brown. Totals: Bridge of Allan 107-77 Tillicoult­ry. Stirling Two championsh­ip titles were decided at the Stirling green last Saturday.

Robin Weathersto­n won the gents championsh­ip with victory over Manny Cruz while Aileen Hall won the ladies title with victory over Margaret Cook.
