Racist thug attacks cops

- Court Reporter

A RACIST thug bit two cops, tried to tear off leg restraints with his teeth, and spat at a third, calling him a“f ****** Negro”.

Scott Sinclair went wild after being arrested over allegations that he had breached an outstanding community payback order.

When he realised he was going to be kept in cells for the weekend, he“became very aggressive, slamming both hands on the charge bar”at Stirling police station, the city’s sheriff court was told yesterday (Thursday).

Prosecutor Laura Knox said Sinclair (24) spat at PC Kevin Deane, asked him what language he spoke, and told him,“You’re a f ****** Negro, you should be working in a corner shop.”

He bit a woman police officer on the leg, and had to be handcuffed and placed in leg restraints.

Mrs Knox said:“The accused then attempted to take his leg restraints off using his teeth.

“PC Mark Campbell pulled the leg restraints from his mouth, and in the process was bitten by the accused on the left pinkie finger, resulting in a one-centimetre laceration.

“He continued to shout abuse at Officer Dean, and was restrained on his stomach.

“A spit hood was applied and later removed, and he was taken to a cell.”

Sinclair, of Charles Street, Drymen, pleaded guilty to three charges of police assault and one of behaving in a racially-aggravated manner.

The incidents occurred on August 5.

Harry Couchlin, defending, said:“He reacted badly at the police station charge bar when he realised he was going to be kept in for the weekend.”

Sheriff William Gilchrist deferred sentence for reports, and remanded Sinclair in custody until September 27.
