Apprentices in UK final

-

Two apprentices from Forth Valley College have won places at the final of the UK’s longest-running construction skills competition.

Ross Cowie (stonemasonry), and Callum Bonner (painting and decorating) have progressed to the UK national final of Skillbuild, which will be held at the Bir- mingham NEC from November 16-18.

Skillbuild, organised by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), has been showcasing the talents of the industry for over 40 years.

The competition sees construction trainees from across the UK compete in their chosen trades, which include bricklaying, wall and floor tiling and painting and decorating.

The duo will now take on finalists from across the UK with the aim of winning a place in the UK squad for the international competition Worldskills Kazan 2019.
