Ceilidh The school ceilidh band were once again getting folks dancing by performing a two-hour set for Strathendr­ick Baptist Church 30th Anniversar­y on Saturday, September 9. The dancers were entertaine­d with the Dashing White Sergeant, Military Two-Step, Strip the Willow and waltzes amongst others, and the evening was a fantastic success enjoyed by all. Author visit Balfron High School had author Cathie MacPhail in school last Friday as part of the Bloody Scotland event. She gave an entertaini­ng and inspiring talk to all S1 and S2 pupils. Hospitalit­y takeover Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the Hospitalit­y Takeover Day at Forth Valley College on Monday, September 11. It was a hands-on day looking at opportunit­ies and careers within the hospitalit­y industry from profession­al cooking to housekeepi­ng to sustainabl­e food and drink. Those who went were Jon Sneddon, Jamie Moir, Eilidh Lynn, Ellie Johnston, Meave Beirnie, Shannon MacLellan, Finn Wooldridge, Ashleigh McFarlane, Lauren Pearson, Chloe McKenzie, Becca Stevenson, Katie Conway, Mya Grantham.
