One man and his dog star picks up top prize

David Shennan, winner of television’s ‘One Man and His Dog’competition picked up the President’s Cup and Farmers Trophy at Stirling Sheep Dog Trials held at Polmaise in August, 1977.

He was one of 78 sheep dog handlers taking part.

Mr Ian Cullen, Dollarbank, Dollar, presented the prizes and the trials were the first organised by Stirling Sheep Dog Society’s new secretary Miss Anne Mitchell, solicitor with Mathie, McLuckie and Lupton.
