Work wrecking age-old path
I am writing to protest in the strongest terms about the destructive work being carried out on the Dumyat path.
Improvements to paths of this kind require specialised design, engineering and construction. Scottish Power Energy Networks is bulldozing an unnecessary path and in the process destroying an ancient one.
It is clear that with little or no consultation the company has taken a cheap option to carry out the requirement placed upon it to mitigate the power line work.
I challenge the company to find any regular user of the hill, be they a walker, runner, cyclist or climber, who supports what it is doing.
This is a cynical and idle action to meet the obligations placed upon them, which is destroying an age-old path in a wild area.
I had no truck with the objections to the power line, which I could see was necessary, but this is quite outrageous.
