Siobhan to wow fans with emotive show

- Donald Morton

Making a welcome return to the Tolbooth to kick off the new season of Strange Behaviours shows is singer Siobhan Wilson.

The Elgin-raised, Frenchspeaking singer-songwriter released LP ‘There Are No Saints’ earlier this year on the ever dependable Song By Toad Records label.

The album has seen her mesmeric, delicately aching songwriting lap on the shores of a host of Radio Six DJs, regularly played and swooned over by Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Mark Radcliffe and Tom Robinson.

Captivating and memorable in the truest sense, her live performance is disarmingly emotive, leaving you hanging on every syllable and transfixed as she appears to relive and re-experience every story she sings.

Back to the Tolbooth after performances at the Strange Behaviours Festival 2015 and her support slot in June of this year with Willy Mason, it’s exciting to have her back as the swell of attention and admiration is building further with her new album.

Fans of Eva Cassidy, Cocteau Twins and Joni Mitchell will find something to fall in love with Siobhan.

Music development officer at the Tolbooth, Kenny Bates, said: “Siobhan is totally peerless in her ability to utterly captivate an audience.

“We’re lucky to have brought her through to the Tolbooth a few times over the past three years, and it’s no exaggeration to say that she leaves her audiences truly affected by her music.”

In support are emerging new folk/indie/Americana trio Quick – a three piece band with jawdropping harmonies and a knack for storytelling.

The show takes place on Thursday, September 28 and tickets are currently on sale.
