New kit for club coaches

-

Bannockburn Rugby Club welcomed a delivery of new kit for their volunteer coaches.

A generous £200 donation from Robertson Central East helped pay for a set of brand new logoed shirts to the delight of those at the club.

The donation extends Robertson’s partnership with Bannockburn High School as the rugby club use the pitches there and many pupils turn out for the teams.

Martin Kenny, vice president and development officer at the club, said: “It’s really important to give back to the volunteer coaches who are giving the kids a chance that they otherwise may not have had to participate in rugby.

“To have them kitted out in a recognisable strip helps bring the whole team together and generate great team spirit.

“Sponsorship from local businesses is critical in allowing us to provide kit that helps families keep costs to a minimum, so it’s fantastic to be able to meet with the people who have given money to support this club.”

Representatives from Robertson were on-hand to hand over the kit during a ceremony at the Stirling Care Village development.

And Craig Smith, senior project manager with the company, said: “Robertson Group is committed to supporting the local community, including local teams such as Bannockburn Rugby Club.

“It’s fantastic to be able to add value to the club and extend out gratitude to the coaches who dedicate their own time to teaching the young players skills that will help them gain employment after education, such as teamwork and motivation.”
