Blueface Leicester shearling realises owners £5500

United Auctions had a catalogue entry of 870 rams and females at SAC Stirling on September 16.

Mart record was smashed with a Blueface Leicester shearling consigned by J Pirie, Blarnavaid realising £5500 split between Messrs Shennan, Farden and McQuiston, Barnshangen.

Texel section was topped by Messrs D Strachan and son, East Shawtonhill, purchased by Monzie Farms at £1400.

Beltex cross section sold to £1300 and was sold by Messrs More Townhead purchased by Cloquhart Farms.

Suffolk shearlings also made a centre record with £1300 realised. Sold by R Bryce Chalmerston and purchased by N. Douglas Catslackburn.

STIRLING – United Auctions (Wednesday,September 20 2017) sold 1186 store cattle at their Show & Sale. Show champion pen of 8 cattle & winner of the Duke of Montrose was a pen of 8 Charolais bullocks from Drumloist, selling for £1320 per head. They’re also was forward 103 cast cows.

Bullocks (658) -averaged 217.60p to 262.30ppk for a 385kg CHX from Berryknowe, and to £1370 for a 676kg CHX from Gateside.

B&W Bullocks (122) averaged 146.82p to 159.10ppk for a 528kg HFX from High Branchal and to £840 for a 528kg BF/HFX from Nether Lethame & High Branchal.

Heifers (406) – averaged 213.14p to 244.70ppk for a 376kg BRBX from Laighpark, and to £1285 for a 658kg CHX from Gateside.

Cast Cows (77) averaged 126.15p to 212.40ppk for a LimX from Fulfordlees and to £1370 for a LimX from Eastmill and SimX from Fulfordlees.

Dairy Cows (17) averaged 109.92p to 134.40ppk for a HFX from Claylands, and to £1070 for a HO/HFX from Claylands.
