Binos look to maintain impressive scoring form

-

Morrison scored a double at Montrose to take his tally for the season to seven goals in all competitions and Mackay hopes they can keep the 18-year-old beyond January.

He said: “Callumn has been excellent and he is improving and learning all the time. We have him until January at the moment and we need to wait and see what happens after that. We would love to keep him here, and I think it would be benefit him, but we’ll talk to Hearts nearer the time.

“I know they have had him watched a few times. Andy Kirk, who is their U20 coach now, has been at some of our games and I’ve spoken to Jon Daly as well.”

The referee for tomorrow’s game against Annan Athletic is Scott Millar and kick-off is 3pm. Admission prices are £13 for adults, £9 seniors and students, £5 for U16s and free for U12s.

The last meeting between the teams was in March when a Darren Smith goal earned Stirling a 1-0 win at Forthbank.

Annan are now managed by former Carlisle and Ayr defender Peter Murphy, who replaced Jim Chapman during the summer and their squad is much-changed.

The Galabankies head north on the back of a 1-1 draw with Stenhousemuir and are just two points outside the top four.

Meanwhile, Stirling Albion will discover their William Scottish Cup second-round opponents when the draw is made at Ayr Racecourse at 5.45pm on Saturday. Second-round ties are due to be played on Saturday October 14. The Binos were paired with Linlithgow Rose at that stage of the competition last year and ran out 3-0 winners at Prestonfield. They went on to knock out Wick Academy before losing to Clyde in a fourth-round replay.
