Mod musical will tell story of The Small Faces
A musical celebrating a culture which paved the way for some of Britain’s biggest ever bands is coming to Stirling.
All Or Nothing: The Mod Musical will be running at the Macrobert between Monday, October 2 and Wednesday, October 4.
The show is described as a transgenerational musical experience celebrating the unique sound of iconic mod band The Small Faces.
It includes an arsenal of brilliant hits like Whatcha Gonna Do About It, All Or Nothing, Tin Soldier, Lazy Sunday, Here Comes The Nice and was the essence of all that was cool. It was mod.
The Small Faces encapsulated all that was mod – a unique blend of testosterone, wearing neat clothes and being streetwise.
These cult sophisticates shared another passion. Their dedication to rhythm ‘n’ blues.
Written by the award-winning actress Carol Harrison, the show tells the electrifying yet bittersweet tale of Kenny Jones, Ian McLagan, Ronnie Lane and Steve Marriott: four charismatic young kids from East London.
The story is told with humour, attitude, passion and, most importantly, talent.
The four youngsters became the Small Faces and were rocketed into the big time, only to discover their path to fantastic success was paved with exploitation, betrayal and ultimately tragedy.
Carol, who is best known for her role as Louise Raymond in Eastenders, is sure that audiences in Stirling are set to enjoy the show.
She said: “It’s a real honour to be able to bring the extraordinary world of the Small Faces back to the fans and to a brand new audience – young and old.
“Our live band and cast tell the story of the rise and fall of the band, a journey as vivid and colourful as their sound, and get to showcase an amazing catalogue of music.
This is music which influenced a generation of musicians, from Paul Weller and the Jam to Oasis, Blur, The Verve and The Arctic Monkeys, not to mention millions of fans.
Audiences will be able to enjoy shows each night from 7.30pm with tickets still available.
