Hospice race day
Stirling hosts the Strathcarron Hospice 10K this Sunday.
The hospice is celebrating 30 years of its 10K races at the new venue of Stirling University.
The race is open to runners aged 15+ of all abilities and for the first time this year there will be a 2.5K young runners family fun run.
Both runs take place within the university grounds for the first time.
Road restrictions had made the usual route in Denny difficult this year but organisers say runners can look forward to the change of scenery.
Online registration closes this morning (Wednesday) and a decision will then be made whether on-theday registrations can be taken.
Coleena Brodie of the hospice fundraising team said:“The route is very different from our previous road race in Denny and Bonnybridge, with numerous different surfaces to contend with - tarmac, forest paths, grass and the odd ascent - but we know our runners will embrace this new challenge with all the stunning views they will enjoy along the way.
“If the 10K is a bit too much of a challenge our 2.5K family fun run is open to all ages and abilities and we promise no hills on that one.
“Every single penny raised by those participating in this event will make a real difference.”
