Pressie for Prime Minister
Speculation may be rife that Prime Minister Theresa May could have more time on her hands by the end of the year - but if she does at least she will have something to keep her occupied.
Stirling MP Stephen Kerr is planning on giving the PM and Scottish Tory Leader Ruth Davidson Stirling Monopoly sets for Christmas.
Mr Kerr said: “Stirling Monopoly is fantastic. As soon as people saw the board there were a lot of smiles. I have four children who grew up playing monopoly, not a surprise perhaps in the home of a capitalist - although a bit of cheating went on at times and it could get quite competitive.
“I will be buying two of the games for the Prime Minister and for Ruth Davidson. It is an amazing thing for Stirling to have its own board and anything on the board suddenly becomes immortal.”
Stirling MSP Bruce Crawford said it was “absolutely marvellous” that the board game recognised some of Stirling and Scotland’s most iconic landmarks.
He added: “I know this will be a success around the world and helps spread Stirling’s image far and wide. I can tell by the audience here this morning just how excited they all are. The board games will be flying off the shelves of Stirling.”
Stirling Council Bailie, Councillor Alasdair Tollemache, said: “Stirling has been on the map for a long time. It is a great place to live.
“It is interesting to see so many recognisable places on the board, many of which people will have been to and others that this may encourage them to visit. The Free Parking square could be interesting - although in Stirling some might say we potentially had that for a few years.
“The launch of this game is great and I am proud to be here on behalf of the people of Stirling.”
