Charities to benefit from band showcase

Town ready to rock

Bands are getting a chance to shine while raising funds for charities and good causes thanks to a new music project.

Central Music Live (CML) were formed mid 2017 with the aim of putting on live music events in and around the Stirling area.

For years the musicians of band The Drop have been playing all over Scotland - but have never had the chance to play a gig in their home town of Bannockburn.

With the help of local man Derek Dudgeon, Central Music Live was established - and on Saturday, October 28, CML’s first show, “Stirling Rocks,” is being held at Bluebell Wood Park.

Derek said: “The aim is to put on as many shows as possible and give local bands and artists the chance to shine.

“This whole thing is driven by a desire to put back into the community, add something to Stirling’s music scene and support charities while we’re at it.

“All proceeds from the night will be donated to PKU and Cancer Research, charities close to the hearts of all those involved.

“CML have an association with Kilgannon Motors who have kindly offered to sponsor this and all forthcoming charity events.

“The line-up for the night has three bands that have been doing the rounds for a number of years and promises not to disappoint.”

As well as The Drop, who are described as a riff rock band with an “unconventional line-up and high energy live performance”, Falkirk-based classic rock band The One One Seven and popular Stirling blues rock band Rail Fan will be on the bill.
