Yob threatens partner then chucks bottle

19-year-old fined for smashing car window during row outside club

A teen thug threatened his partner and smashed a car window with a bottle after a boozy night out in Stirling’s Fubar.

Luke Hunter had been at the Maxwell Place nightclub with partner Kerry Hendry on March 19 this year.

The fiscal depute told Stirling Sheriff Court last Wednesday that the couple had been in a relationship for about a year and a half and had a five-month-old baby when the attack took place.

They had been at the Fubar in Stirling with friends for a night out, but “appeared to be niggling at one another throughout the night.”

The couple became separated from each other in the nightclub and met up again about 1.45am.

They left the club to get a takeaway, but Miss Hendry stated the accused was being angry and aggressive.

Hunter had told his partner in the street that he was “so close” to hitting a bottle over her head.

The fiscal depute said Hunter at that point however threw the bottle he had been holding at a nearby vehicle, smashing a rear passenger window.

Miss Hendry then approached a nearby police car. When Hunter was cautioned and charged he made no reply.

Hunter admitted charges of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner and wilfully or recklessly destroying or damaging property.

His lawyer told Sheriff William Gilchrist that the couple hoped to reconcile and were “building bridges.”

Hunter is currently living with his mother, but was in contact with his son several times a week.

The solicitor said his 19- yearold client, of Mill Road, Alloa, was working as an apprentice for 53 hours per week over six days and paid £250 per week.

Sheriff Gilchrist fined Hunter £200 and ordered him to pay £75 in compensation to the owner of the car, payable at a rate of £30 per week.
