200 visit college promotion night

-

An open event promoting courses and apprenticeship opportunities at Forth Valley College attracted more than 200 people to the Stirling campus last week.

Representatives from the college’s teaching departments and business development team offered advice and guidance on the courses available, including full-time courses from access to degree level, modern apprenticeships, new foundation apprenticeships, evening courses, business training courses and flexible learning programmes.

In addition, support teams offered careers advice and answered questions on funding, learning support and applying to college.

The college welcomed a wide range of companies to promote career opportunities and current vacancies and Skills Development Scotland were also there.

Forth Valley College launched its 2018/19 prospectus recently.

College principal Ken Thomson said:“Our open evenings offer a fantastic opportunity for people to come along and find out about the different options available to them, whether they’re interested in a mainstream course, finding out about modern apprenticeship vacancies currently on offer, thinking about studying for a foundation apprenticeship while still at school or pursuing a degree.

“They’re also really useful if you’re considering applying to college but have questions surrounding student finance or the application process, for example, and also an excellent opportunity to speak with a large number of employers who are exhibiting this year to find out what qualifications they are looking for.”
