Hunt goes on for street attackers

-

Police are continuing their hunt for two thugs who launched an unprovoked assault on another man on a busy Stirling road.

Officers investigating the alarming incident, which happened on Burghmuir Road at around 8.30pm on Sunday night, say they are following a number of lines of enquiry.

The 29-year-old victim was walking to work alone when he was approached by the duo.

They threatened him and demanded that he hand over an item of personal property before striking him on the head, leaving him with an injury. They then made off with the victim’s property.

The incident, described as “cowardly” by police, happened near the St Ninians end of the road.

One of the attackers is described as 5ft 8in, skinny and wearing a dark hoodie. The other is 5ft 6in, skinny and wearing a light coloured hoodie or jumper.

Detective Inspector Kenny McAndrew said “We are working to identify those responsible for this cowardly act and have several active lines of enquiry ongoing.

“I would ask anyone who might have been in the area of Burghmuir Road around that time or might have seen males matching the descriptions of the perpetrators to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“I’m also looking for contact from anyone who may have driven near that area and might have dashcam footage that could help us with our enquiry.”
