Consider Yourself part of the cast, youngsters told

- Robert Fairnie

Four young stars of the stage are set to feature in a production of Oliver at the Macrobert.

Dylan Clark, Jake Speed, Alexander Bland and Lucas Cuthbert, all aged 11, will star in the Stirling and Bridge of Allan Operatic Society’s (SABOS) adaptation of the classic tale.

The quartet will play the principal child roles when the show comes to town from March 27-31.

Lucas, from Stirling, Jake, from Greenloaning, and Alexander, of Bridge of Allan, have been double-cast as the cheeky chappy Artful Dodger.

And Dylan, also of Bridge of Allan, will be playing the role of Oliver on alternate nights.

He said:“I enjoy rehearsing all together, the atmosphere is really friendly. I’m excited to be performing on the Macrobert stage for the first time next year and looking forward to the challenge of playing the main part of Oliver.”

SABOS chairperson Carolyn Johnston said:“As most of us are heading to the shops for some Christmas shopping, the boys are heading to rehearsals to practice their lines and sing along with the rest of our 50-child cast.

“Despite the‘terrible conditions’ in the workhouse, the kids are really enjoying learning hit musical songs such as Consider Yourself and Food Glorious Food as well as making lots of new friends.”

Tickets are available from Macrobert Box Office on 01786 466666 or online.
