Ogilvie toasts rise in profits after solid year
Profits at Stirling-based Ogilvie Group – which includes construction and surveying companies – are up 16 per cent this year.
Group turnover was £269m, excluding joint ventures, resulting in a net pre-tax profit of £5.3m.
Ogilvie Fleet increased its fleet size by 10 per cent to more than 16,100 vehicles.
In September 2017 the company acquired Cheshire-based Tilsun Vehicle Contracts, entering the personal contract hire market for the first time.
Ogilvie Construction, which operates across housing, office, retail and property sectors, increased revenue.
Ogilvie Homes has seen steady and sustainable growth as trading conditions improve while Ogilvie Geomatics acquired Malcolm Hughes Land Surveyors. In 2018 the brands will be merged to operate as Malcolm Hughes.
Net-Defence has achieved Cyber Essential Plus certification to audit and accredit businesses who need to achieve this Government standard.
This year the group also bought Lincoln-based vehicle accident management business, Active Auto Solutions, for £4.6m.

Ogilvie Group, founded in Stirling in the 1950s, employs over 500 people at twelve locations across the UK.
