Woman denies making threats

- Court reporter

A Bannockburn woman has denied entering a neighbour’s house uninvited and behaving in a threatening manner.

Ashleigh McKenzie is alleged to have shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence at her 7 Murrayfield Place home and at number five next door on June 21 this year.

The charge also states that 33-yearold McKenzie had entered Gemma McEwan’s house uninvited and to have entered her own address and repeatedly struck the walls, continue to shout and swear while in possession of a baseball bat and challenging others to fight.

In a separate complaint, McKenzie denied charges of behaving in a threatening manner, recklessly damaging property, resisting police officers and assaulting a police officer –all while on bail on another matter.

It is alleged that McKenzie had shouted, swore, threw glass bottles and made threats at her Murrayfield Place address on October 15 this year, and damaged property by throwing a stone and smashing a plant pot there.

He is also said to have struggled and pulled away from two police officers at her address on the same date and to have shouted, swore and uttered threats.

It is further alleged that she repeatedly kicked one of the police officers.

At Stirling Sheriff Court last Wednesday, McKenzie maintained her not guilty pleas to the charges.

He lawyer Frazer McCready said her attendance had been excused at the notional trial diet. He explained that she had been in hospital, but was now feeling much better.

Sheriff Wyllie Robertson continued the matter to trial until February 19 and conjoined both complaints. Bail was continued on both matters.
