Drunk yob’s violent behaviour alarms partner
A drunk Bannockburn yob made threats and alarmed his partner by throwing garden furniture around her home in the town.
Ryan Norris had gone round to Terry Sneddon’s Quakerfield home on Monday December 19 and shouted and swore.
The 35-year-old stated that he was going to harm himself before punching and kicking a door there.
He also made threatening remarks and threw garden furniture around and behaved aggressively.
At Stirling Sheriff Court last week Norris admitted a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, aggravated by abuse of a partner or ex-partner.
The charge had been amended to remove mention of Norris attempting to take possession of a knife.
The court heard that Norris and Ms Sneddon had been in a long-term relationship.
However, Norris appeared at her home that day uninvited after drinking an “excessive”amount of alcohol.
His agent Ken Dalling asked Sheriff Wyllie Robertson to defer sentence for the preparation of reports.
But Ms Sneddon, it was said, did not want Norris back at her home until the court case was finished.
Fiscal depute Lindsey Brooks told Sheriff Robertson that bail was opposed on grounds of Norris’record.
Mr Dalling however pointed out that there had been a“long gap”in his client’s offending between 2012 and 2017 and said:“He does have a stable address at his mother’s and hopes to return to employment in the new year.”
Sheriff Robertson deferred sentence until January 17 for a criminal justice social work report.
He granted Norris bail with the condition that he does not enter Ms Sneddon’s Quakerfield address.
But he told Norris, of Forthview, Bannockburn:“If you have not heard from the social work department for interview you should contact them directly.
“If there is no report on the next occasion you may find yourself remanded until the case finishes”.
