Patients, staff and volunteers were in for a sweet treat when Maley’s Chocolates and Mrs Tilly’s both visited the hospice.

Michael Maley was at the hospice day care service and spent some fun hours with patients handcrafting enough delicious chocolates for all to enjoy.

Strathcarron business development fundraiser Claire MacDonald said: “The patients thoroughly enjoyed the session with Michael and every single one of them wanted to take part.”

Meanwhile, Mrs Tilly’s also generously donated a pallet of free stock for the hospice to sell in its shops to generate vital funds and another pallet of treats for patients, staff and volunteers to enjoy.

Claire added: “Day Care is an integral part of the hospice and enhances the quality of life for patients by maintaining their independence and providing personalised care in a homely and relaxing environment.

“The generous support from Maley’s was fantastic as it enabled patients to learn new skills and enjoy taking part in a new activity.

“It also gave patients the opportunity to make their own gifts for friends and family .

“On top of this, the generous donation from Mrs Tilly’s will enable us to raise over £1000 for our services which in real terms could cover the cost of caring for one person with a terminal illness for over two days.”
