Deathof teacher
Callander Primary has been rocked by the sudden death of a much-loved teacher.
Roddy Shearer – a Reduced Class Contact Time (RCCT) teacher at the school – passed away sometime between Christmas day and the new year.
A spokesperson for Stirling Council confirmed: “During the Christmas and New Year break we learned of the unexpected passing of a member of staff at Callander Primary School. At this time our thoughts are with their family, friends and colleagues.”
Mr Shearer, originally from Dunfermline, lived in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire. He had worked at the school for a number of years, teaching several generations of school pupils within the town.
Parents and former pupils paid tribute on social media.
